Bad Weather Make-Up Days

Bad Weather Make-Up Days Much of Texas experienced an unusually extreme winter this year. As a result, our students missed 3 days of instruction.

We have adjusted our calendar accordingly to make up those days of instruction as required by law.
Ag Science Day
The Florence FFA's own ag students are coming to the elementary to teach our students all about ag science. Each grade level will get to learn in different fun and exciting ways. What better way to learn than hands-on activities-from adding wool to a lamb, hatching a chick or growing a dirt baby! Watch out Florence there will be "ag smart" kids running all over town.

Kindergarten ROUND UP - May 5th & 6th 9:00-11:00 & 1:00- 2:30 We encourage parents to pre-register their kindergartners for the coming school year during our Kindergarten Roundup. This helps us plan our school staff needs and provides parents with the needed information to help prepare for that important first year of school.

Drop off and Pick up
Parents,
This is a reminder that teachers are officially on duty from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Please do not drop your child off prior to 7:30 a.m. Students are to go directly to the cafeteria to wait for their grade level teachers to take them to their class. If your child arrives after 7:45, they can go directly to the classroom for breakfast.
Additionally, students that are not picked up by 3:30 p.m. will be waiting in the office area when you arrive.
Academic UIL is here!
On January 17, 2014, Florence Elementary School will compete at the District 22AA UIL (University Interscholastic League) Elementary Academic Meet. This year's UIL Meet will begin at 1:15 at Salado Intermediate School. We are very proud of our students who are participating in this event. We hope they enjoy the experience, as well as reap the benefits of hard work from the time and energy involved in this UIL academic meet.
